Waiting for baby...

Thought I'd update everyone on the upcoming birth of little Alex. I'm now 36 weeks and 3 days, and he's weighing in at an estimated 7 lbs. 6 oz. Kathryn came at 35 weeks, 1 day, so I'm grateful for the extra time and weight Alex is getting. To prevent my having another itsy-bitsy one, they placed me on Terbutaline/Brethine for a few weeks. Within 48 hours of discontinuing it, I began having regular (6 minutes apart) contractions. So off we went to the hospital. They observed me overnight and sent me home. That was last Tuesday. As of today, I've had continuous contractions 6 minutes apart for a week! As the wise say, "Life is what happens when you're expecting something else." ;o) They're keeping an eye on us, but don't want me admitted until things "pick up." So, now you know why I haven't blogged much. I'm pretty tired all the time right now. Please pray that we (our little family) will have extra strength and patience for each other during this time. Nathan's been an angel; I can't say the same for Kathryn ;o)

Oh Charity - you poor thing! That would be absolutly exhausting. I hope you are getting enough used to them that you are getting some sleep - yikes. That's no way to "rest up" to get ready for a newborn. Hopefully all those contractions will mean that your labor will mostly be over when the baby does decide to arrive so the end will be REALLy short!

Good to talk to you both yesterday. You are in my thoughts and prayers...OFTEN! I know you weren't expecting Alex to enjoy his uterine home so long...but he's trying to do the right thing, poor little guy! Now if only his Mama can get some REST! Hope it goes well with Kathryn at Joyce's tonight. That will be a nice break for you.

I still say, beg for AMBIEN! It's a little pill from Heaven!

I'll be expecting Nate's call just any day.....Love you guys!

Hello, I'm Catrena Durgan. Don't imagine that you remember me, by my sister is Cyretha Horton. I believe that I met you at Mark and Cyretha's wedding. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that we have had four children and I had pre-term labor with all four of them. Our last one is not quite eight months old. I can certainly empathize with what you're going through. With our last one, Makayla, I had eight weeks of pre-term, and I know that it is sooooo exhausting. She was born at 36 weeks, 6 days. I noticed that someone else mentioned Ambien. It was wonderful. They gave it to me because I couldn't sleep through the contractions. I took it, and it worked, and it is perfectly safe for pregnancy. Anyway, I hope that all goes well for you, and I'll pray that you're little one arrives safe and sound. Do try to get some rest.
